Sustainable Success Nudge From Your Future Self
💬 “Not everything that arrives is an answer.”
Sometimes what shows up helps you get clearer about what you're actually asking for.
Hi Melinda,
A few weeks ago, I told the story of creating my Sound Sanctuary.
You may remember the $219 in paint. The underused home office. And the beautiful space my hairstylist offered me that I ultimately turned down.
At the time, I shared that story through the lens of our actions telling the Universe that we mean business. But there's another part of that story I keep thinking about.
The part before I knew what the answer was.
When my hairstylist first offered me that beautiful vacant room, my immediate thought was...
Well, I asked for a space. And here's one that just showed up. Maybe this is the Universe answering.
It was exciting to think about being in that space. She loves my sound baths and could be a phenomenal referral source. Having my space there could mean more referrals. More clients. Faster growth. It made perfect sense.
Except...
I had this little crinkle in my forehead.
You know that feeling?
That Hmmmmm...something isn't quite right sensation you can't necessarily explain.
Everything in my mind could make a case for yes.
But that little crinkle kept saying:
Not yet. Keep listening.
So I did.
I thanked her for the generous offer and let the question remain open.
About two weeks later, I walked into our mostly unused home office.
And immediately thought:
Oh. THIS is it.
If you read that earlier email, you know what happened next.
But here's the part I didn't understand quite as clearly then:
I believe in synchronicity. I pay attention to signs.
I believe the Universe responds when we get clear about what we desire.
But don't mistake synchronicity for instruction.
Something showing up immediately after you've expressed a desire doesn't necessarily mean:
Take it.
Sometimes it simply means:
Pay attention.
Maybe the first opportunity wasn't the answer.
Maybe it was part of what helped me recognize the answer when it did present itself.
So here's something I'd love for you to notice this week:
Where does everything make logical sense...but there's still a little crinkle in your forehead?
Don't immediately talk yourself out of it.
Maybe that crinkle isn't resistance to overcome. Maybe it's information.
Keep listening.
With presence, Melinda
